ANDREW TAYLOR – Managing Director

Began work in 1986 with the Rotorua Post Office, then Telecom Business Systems gaining extensive knowledge of PABX programming, especially within the business sector, until forming Phocal in 1997 with Ralph. Over the years I have also designed video surveillance (CCTV) solutions.

I have enjoyed the challenges of changing technology & consider prompt and experienced service to be the key to our success.

I love all levels of sport and spending time with my family.

RALPH NOBLE – Technical Director

Started working for the Hamilton Post Office in 1968, as a Technician in the main telephone exchange. Moved to Whangarei for 2 years, then on to the Rotorua exchange for another 28 years.

Phocal was formed in November 1997,  and is still going strong.                                                                                
My specialty  is the installation & maintenance of phone systems, and because I  know the exchange workings inside-out & top-to-bottom, after 41 years, I am confident that  there are no faults that I cannot  identify. Fixing them is sometimes trickier, but identifying them correctly is the first step.

As a Mad Everton Soccer fan, I also play golf and am learning to play the guitar.

NATHAN WILLIS – Account Manager

I started in the IT industry over 7 years ago.

I enjoy how technology creates real business benefits, such as bottom line profits and, it brings serious productivity gains.

Seeing technology do that is where my passion for this business comes from.

My wife and I enjoy watching our 5-year-old son play league, and I love surfing at Papamoa.

ALLEN NEWSON – Systems Engineer  
                               
I have been working in the IT industry for 13 years, servicing business technology needs.

I strive to solve your problems with simple solutions.

Personally, I follow a strict health regime, which maintains my health, and my astuteness within this industry.

IRA TE KANI – Office Administration

Secretarial, PA, and for the past 17 years accounting, has kept me in the work force for about 35 years, with breaks for overseas travel and  being a stay-at-home Mum with my 3 sons, before my partner Andrew & Ralph formed Phocal Communications.

I enjoy team sports and still play touch. Recently my boys and I have taken up Matarua, which is a form of Maori martial arts, fighting with a taiaha.
